Last program is complete
It's finished and done
Let's look inside
And explore all the fun!
Performances Galore
Amanda Sandoval performing at one of our crew shows throughout the week. We practiced and learned the maculele (Brazilian stick dancing) at the
Sombrero of Fun.
Bigger kids using the bigger sticks
for maculele!
Our crew opening shows always begin outside with street theatre spectacle... arriba! Johnny Gillett, talented storyteller and mime artist, opens our weekly Friday performance story outdoors. Crew prepare a performance each Monday afternoon that blends hoops, circus equipment, dance, song, and stories.
Our parent community looks forward to each Friday show... Kevin leads a group of children through our human rainforest into another performance space. It's all about interacting as a community
during each show.
Our show opening "kicked off" with a soccer game at the edge of the Peruvian Rainforest.
Hula hooping became a favourite part
of some shows this past June/July!
There was lots of rhythm and
drumming at our performances that rocked the house!
Children often remember the story songs
that they have created and sung for
years to come...
At Camp Magic, we learn to dance
with pure abandon.
Colour and Costumes are everywhere
and accompany our program theme.
With the direction of Cinzia Ciaramicoli,
stilt walking in costumes and capes is becoming a big part of our shows.
Fernanda (Rita Superbi) created a loveable, excitable Mexican dance character in our opening at the Sombrero of Fun! Adam Mertens walking a tight line
at one of our crew shows!
Johnny Gillett told stories to audiences small and large throughout the program.
Children love performing at the end of
each week for their families.
Our crews work very hard with the children each day, helping to create with them a strong sense of community and connection. Parents enjoy partaking in the
performances with crew too! Check out
our Dads in Sombrero's.
Indoor and Outdoor Excitement and Fun
Camp Magic is always a place for tall and small to meet and share. We hire a crew who are caring and generous in everything they do. We stretch and we reach,
we learn and we teach.
Beautiful craft creations for our final art pieces. Cinzia helped to get many children up onto free standing stilts this year. We open our arms to the possibilities
each day...
I'll give a big thumbs up to this unicycling stuff! Ole! We spun so much fun in our Sombreros. Camp Magic provides children with the opportunity to make new friends each week, each day, each minute...
Dancing out to the playground, practicing for our show entrance. Cooking at our Friday Carnivale's was yummy fun. Immersed in the creative process
- dynamic and energizing!
Learning to juggle takes courage, and a willingness to make the impossible, possible!! Thank you, Monsieur Louis Legault. Just can't get enough rhythm!! Group rhythms are an everyday experience
at Camp Magic.
Our oldest group learned the art of interviewing at the Sombrero of Fun. Bruce enjoyed teaching mums and children to hula hoop this year. We can find quiet places to explore
at Camp Magic, too.
