The Rainbow Lotus Project All Began...
with a teacher visiting a classroom of children in Singapore. She wanted to share with the students her story... her true story. It was about a little girl living in Laos during a time of war and unrest. The family wanted their children to be free, so they risked their lives by hiring a boat and in the middle of the night, they fled.

The Mekong River is mighty, powerful, and life giving... and that evening they were granted a passage to freedom. When the sun rose the next morning, that little girl was in Thailand. And so began a new day and a new beginning.
AFTER ONE OF THE STUDENTS IN THE CLASS HEARD THIS STORY, HE SHARED IT...with his family that evening. So powerful was the story, he couldn't stop thinking about it. Before going to bed, he drew a picture of the boat, and the river, the side they left, and the side of freedom. TEN MONTHS LATER...that same boy was spending a year being homeschooled. When he was granted the choice to visit any country in Asia for a homeschool field trip, he decided on Laos, and to spend time on the Mekong river. He was inspired to learn more after hearing the teacher's story.

When in Laos, what most shocked him was that most children in Laos don't even own one book. It was on this journey, gaining this knowledge, that The Rainbow Lotus Project was born. He and his mother came back to Singapore. The son returned to school the following year, and the mother continued the project.
It all began with a story
Followed by a drawing,
The desire to understand
And a yearning to give...
The rainbow in our project symbolizes the colour, beauty and delight that giving brings into our lives. The lotus is about new beginnings, as the flower opens each day with the rising sun.The Rainbow Lotus Project is a volunteer organization that strives to improve and enhance the educational experiences of children. To this end, we aim to raise money through fundraising and sponsorship to supply children in need with goods and services.
RAINBOW LOTUS PROJECT HAS MOVED TO BALI!After three years supporting two different organizations in Laos, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Bali Bridges! Started up by Craig Coutts and Randolph Oudemans from United World College, the program thrives on cultural exchange, and promoting a bridge of understanding between the different worlds we live in.

Camp Magic is sending members of our crews to orphanages in Bali, giving the children there an opportunity to participate in our program. We have also purchased several drums, percussion instruments, and art supplies for the children to use on an ongoing basis.

This past June and August we sent in two different teams to bring drumming, dancing, story, art, craft, percussion, song, and guitar playing to the students at Bangli Orphanage. It was a beautiful time of collaboration, movement, joy, and laughter.

Next year we will be sending in crews to bring circus skills to all the children. This will include stilt walking, unicycling, hoola hooping, juggling, plate spinning and poi. If you would like to learn more about how you can donate to our project and/or purchase poi and wish flags that support our work in the orphanages, please contact us.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?1. By sending your child to camp magic, you are automatically giving $10 to our project.

2. Donating any money amount and/or time (coming to our meetings, helping to spread the word).

3. Buying our products- ribbon poi and gypsy wish flags.

WHAT GIVES US PEACE?Some say a sunny day on the beach can bring us peace

While others would say it's an ice cream cone with their favourite flavours...

And some would say the greatest peace comes when we truly understand what it means to give...
To ourselves, to our families, our friends,
And to our world community.

One day at a time,
one kind act followed by another,
this is the Art of Giving.
